The ego is denial incarnate

Ego is denial incarnate, means we will not observe our ego. We all believe we are our egos, we have no reason to observe it, question it, or change it.

Our ego is our attachment to everything we believe and all the decisions we made about ourselves and about how life is; all this from our experiences and judgments growing up in this crazy world.

Our ego denial has consequences. Because we are unwilling to observe our ego, we don’t know much about it, we simply deny anything that doesn’t agree with our ego. The following is example to help understand this.

We believe anger is wrong, because we were beat up by a father anytime we got angry. As a result, we learned to repress our anger. So, how do we react when someone is angry? We get angry at them; our repressed anger comes up like a volcano eruption.

The most obvious characteristic of someone is precisely what they are not aware of about themselves; and it is this same characteristic they find most offensive in others.

To see any truth in yourself is to witness the ego. This is one way to awaken, because ego cannot survive the light of observation, it lives in a dark unconsciousness.

All conflict inside yourself and in the world results from failing to realize you are what you hate. The higher esoteric reality is we are all mirors for each other to observe ourselves.
