What is beauty, really?

What is beauty, really?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Many years ago, I was hanging out at the beach with David, a friend, and his girlfriend who I had not met before. Later that day, I ran into another friend who also knew David and his girfriend. I could not stop talking about this girl, saying how beautiful I thought she was and how attractive I found her.

He beagn to laugh, saying really, you think so, really? I was getting annoyed with him and asked him to explain himself. After he calmed down, he said he had the same experience of this girl. He told me that what I saw was not correct, that she was not only not beautiful but downright homely. He said she had a glass eye, and a twisted smile and a crooked nose, on and on he went.

Finally he explained, I was caught by her energy, her joy, her loving presence, her openness, and friendliness. He said her loving energy blinded me to see how she really looked. I heard his words, but I was having a hard time believing what he was saying.

The next time I saw David and Udite, I had to concentrate on her face to even begin to see what my friend had said. After a while, I saw that he was correct, yet to this day, I remember her as one of the most beautiful girls I had ever met.

I wrote this piece about 43 years ago, when I was 33, a few years into my life as a seeker of truth. The ultimate beauty and attractiveness of woman is the enticing and alluring power of feminine heart energy. Our more normal focus is on physical form, because feminine heart energy in women and in men, is yet to be universally discovered.
